I was raised Catholic. I was never encouraged to read the Bible so I didn’t. I stopped going to church when I was 15 because we moved and my parents were not that impressed with the churches in the area we moved to. Since I didn’t have any read direction I just sinned all the time with out caring about what I was doing.
After my wife and I moved to Des Moines we decided to start looking for a church to go to. We didn’t feel like we could belong to any of the ones we tried. Then she was invited to go to Living Waters from someone at her work and really enjoyed going there. She told me to start taking Sundays off so we could go there together. We then started a Bible study with Josh.
My salvation was on April 14 at 12:30 AM. After I had fought with my pride for weeks I had finally been able to overcome my pride after reading the sections of the Bible that Josh recommended. Josh also had left me a message which started to make me think more about why I was not able to give up my pride.
Since I have accepted Jesus as my savior; I think before I act and contemplate if what I am doing is really what I should do. I also have been a more positive person instead of blowing up on people when they do stuff that bothers me.
