Ben Funkhouser
I was born and raised in a loving, Christian home. My parents are believers in Jesus and took me to church from the day I was born. I learned about the Bible and what Jesus did for me from a very young age. When I was 5 years old I understood that I was a sinner, and I trusted in Jesus to save me from my sins. My Dad led me to Christ. I was very young and I did not understand all of the deep truths about the Gospel, but in a simple child like way I knew I was a sinner and needed Jesus.
From that time I have progressively been growing to be more like Jesus. This is clear from things like a desire to read and study the Bible, conviction of sin, and a desire to serve Jesus. These are some of the changes that have come about in my life that are not from my old self, but from the new man.
In recent years, I have grown to understand that the Gospel is something that impacts my life more then just one time in my life. I have come to understand that the Gospel should impact my life every day. Now I think about the Gospel and I am thankful for what Jesus did for me almost daily and not just once a month. God continually shows me how much I need Him and I need His word. I am thankful for how God continues to change me and that He never gives up on me.
